LOPAREX RELEASES 2026 ESG REPORT, SPOTLIGHTING PERFORMANCE & ACHIEVEMENTS FOR 2025
New sustainable product developments, higher renewables usage, and stronger safety culture among highlights featured in latest report
CARY, N.C. – Loparex, a global leader in release liner manufacturing, today announced the release of its 2026 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report. This biannual report provides a comprehensive overview of the company’s ESG priorities and measures, tracking its performance in key material topics such as environmental impact reduction, workplace safety, and sustainable product innovation.
The newest report covers the company’s operations in 2025 and is now available for download on the Loparex website.
Key Highlights of the 2026 Report
- New European Reporting Standards: Loparex is aligning its operations with new reporting requirements mandated by the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This transition includes the implementation of more actionable ESG goals and a streamlined set of material topics selected on the basis of a company-wide four-stage double materiality analysis (DMA).
- Sustainable Product Development: 2025 saw several notable advances in product sustainability at Loparex. Chief among these were the development of a new polycoated liner that allows both film and paper recovery, a threefold increase in the regranulation of film process waste at Loparex’s largest manufacturing site, and the replacement of poly- and perfluorinated (PFAS) materials in inks, wind aids, and non-medical silicones used in the company’s production processes.
- Renewable Energy Usage: 52% of all electricity consumed by Loparex sites in 2025 was generated by renewable sources, placing the company on track to obtain 80% of its electricity needs from renewables by 2030.
- FSC™ Certification: Having obtained Forest Stewardship Council™ Chain of Custody (CoC) certification for its primary European paper production site in Apeldoorn, Loparex now offers FSC-certified paper material to customers across all regions.
- Health and Safety Metrics: Loparex sites set new records in reporting and preventive actions in 2025. Stronger emphasis was also placed on further improving safety training, with employees receiving 4,760 additional training hours.
- EcoVadis Evaluations: Loparex sites re-assessed by business sustainability ratings provider EcoVadis in 2025 improved their assessment scores by an average of 8 points. Forchheim, the largest Loparex plant, raised its total score by 12 – an 11% increase over its previous performance.
“Despite challenging conditions, we were able to maintain positive forward momentum in our ESG targets and programs in 2025, laying a strong foundation for the years ahead,“ said Richard Holder, CEO of Loparex. “For Loparex, sustainability is not an intangible aspiration. It is a value we actively foster in our ecosystem alongside our partners, suppliers, and customers, working together to build a more resilient future for our industry.“
