Offset gravure coating is a coating method involving three rollers. The first roller is a gravure roller with a defined gravure shape and depth. On this roller, an enclosed doctor blade is mounted to apply solvent-based, water-based, or 100% solid coating materials. The second roller is a rubber-based application roller that picks up the coating material from the gravure roller and transfers it over to the web, which is pushed by the third roller against the application roller.
